I’m a User Researcher based in Glasgow. I do freelance work for companies looking to learn more deeply about their customers or who need to embed user-centred practice into their organisation. Here are a few things to help you get to know me:
Noodle and Roo. Noodle is a 9 year old dachshund and Roo is a 4 year old Romanian street dog/ domesticated Tasmanian devil.
All rescues. Midnight (brown), Tormund (orange) and Brienne (grey).
Specifically, interviewing in a way that doesn’t feel like an interview. I view my job as learning people’s stories by having a lovely chat.
Great for User-centred Design, rubbish for watching SuperVet…
During the pandemic, I completed training with Humanists UK to be a wedding celebrant in England. I gave this up when I moved to Scotland shortly after completing my training.
This means I make a lot of connections between things others may not see or notice, which goes someway to explaining my love of qualitative research.
I care passionately about the environment (which is what lead me to work at OVO!). As a household we're constantly introducing new initiative to help us save energy and reduce waste
I'm born to Scottish parents but was born and raised in Buckinghamshire. I followed my calling and came to Scotland in 2021 and I can't imagine ever wanting to leave.
While I'm not a designer I'm very creative. I channel this through design thinking (and the odd workshop sketch!) in the office, but leave creating for my personal time. I'm particularly keen on crochet!
From September 2023, hopefully ending June 2025, I'm studying an MSc (conversion) in Psychology through the Open University. I request max 30h week contracts or the option to compress work hours, so that I have at least one working day a week for my studies.
